Tuesday, June 9th Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Ft. Myers
Come journey with the YAHOO’s as we take an excursion to visit early 20th Century industrialists and entrepreneurs Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Winter Estates in Ft. Myers, FL on Tuesday, June 9th. The estates are nestled along the Caloosahatchee River and the scenery is beautiful.
We will tour both the home of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford as well as learn how both gentlemen arrived in Ft. Myers. We have a docent tour starting at 10:00AM.
The house tours last 1½ hours and the cost for a group of 20 or more is $18 per person. If less than 20, the cost is $25 per person. At our leisure, we can tour the laboratory and g a r d e n s . V i s i t t h e w e b s i t e a t:
to learn more. After the docent tour, we have a lunch reservation at 12 noon at Pincher’s Restaurant which is located right next to the estate in the Marina. Travel time from our home is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. This would be a great time for a little overnight getaway. Take I-75S to Exit 138. Turn right on Martin Luther King Blvd (road changes name to McGregor Blvd). Go approximately 5 miles to a gate on the left into the estates located at 2350 McGregor Blvd.
