MOAS Members,
Call to action!! We're a strong, vibrant chapter but can be even bigger and better by working together. There are some 70,000 veterans living in the greater Sarasota metropolitan area which equates to something in excess of 7,000 officers. Wouldn't it be great to have some of them join us? Think of why you joined...for the comradery, for the memories, to bond with those who share similar morals and values, to stay informed...all great reasons, and great reasons to share with those who have yet to find us.
I'm guessing you said "yes" to the above question and I'd agree; that's where you come in. We are ALL recruiters and we need your help in reaching out to those who might not be aware of our chapter and associated activities. I respectfully request each of you, and your spouse/partner, to cast your net far and wide and invite the officer and/or spouse in your neighborhood, church, golf team, etc to one of our functions...monthly meet and greet, monthly luncheon, our Oktoberfest (10 Oct) or anything else that comes to mind.
We've got just over three hundred members right now and I absolutely believe we can double our membership within a year. I personally challenge each of you to help double our membership by December 2019 with an interim target of 500 members by the end of the year. Who can individually generate the most new members? What Service can generate the most new members? And, let's not forget our Surviving Spouses and the critical role they've played in our careers. Let's ensure we invite them as well as they've truly been the wind beneath our wings.
One last ask it, George Tracy and I need one or two members from each Service to assist us in reaching out to Service-specific organizations and like Service members. We want to strengthen our relationship with the local Air Force Association, Association of the US Army, Navy League, etc as we seek new members and we believe it best for like Service members to contact potential members (Army calling Army, etc). Appreciate your support in advance as this is most certainly team ball and we all benefit.
Thank you, and full speed ahead. Wait, can an Air Force guy say that?
Cheers,
Scott Wuesthoff
