September Luncheon Program

SEPTEMBER PROGRAM: SOUTHWEST FLORIDA JOINT CHAPTER LUNCHEON
by Linda Gould

Our September luncheon saw us back in coat and tie after a long hot summer! What a wonderful way to get back into
the swing of things by hosting the annual South West Florida Joint Luncheon with several other chapters represented!

Luncheon attendees included members from the Bradenton, Venice, Calusa, and Lee Coast chapters. Thank you to Jim and Dottie Conner for joining us. It’s always so great to see our President and First Lady of the Florida Council of Chapters!

As you know, for our September Joint Luncheon we regularly schedule a speaker from MOAA National in order to get the very latest news directly to as many chapter representatives as possible. We originally were ready to hear from CAPT Don Freese, a MOAA Board member from the St. Petersburg Chapter. For those of you who may not know, Don passed away recently from an illness and we miss him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sherry and the Freese family.

We very much appreciate Maj. Gen. Joe and Pat Lynch coming to our luncheon in order to ensure that we received the very latest from MOAA. It is always vital for us to hear
the very latest from our headquarters to ensure that we all move forward together to continue to support and lobby for the very best quality of life and community service aspects that we can for Veterans and their families.

Maj. Gen. Lynch, the MOAA General Counsel, is a dynamic speaker who caught and held our attention as he covered a myriad of topics affecting all of us. The presentation was extremely thorough and very informative and we welcome him and his lovely wife Pat to join us again at any time!
